The piece employs full bezel settings for all three stones—a technique that frames each gem in a continuous rim of metal, conferring both structural security and a streamlined Art Deco sensibility. Sapphires were a perfect accent to diamonds in platinum settings during the Art Deco era, prized for the chromatic counterpoint their saturated blues struck against white metal and brilliant-cut stones. The oval sapphire weighs just over a carat, and at 1.10 carats it commands the composition's terminus while the two round diamonds above it—totaling 0.24 carats—graduate upward in diminishing scale.
