The goat leather itself—hand-selected for natural grain, minimal chemical treatment—was chosen to balance suppleness with structural integrity, and the L'Affriolant ("the tempting one") was among the first models released when the collection debuted. Its rounded hobo silhouette and generous proportions made it one of Louis Vuitton's most expensive leather offerings at the time, and the hardware grammar—polished brass S-lock, studding along the strap connectors, gusseted side panels trimmed in protective metal corners—drew directly from the trunk fastenings Vuitton introduced in the nineteenth century. The chevre here is ivoire, the soft white-cream tone that appeared in the earliest Suhali color releases and was sometimes called blanc or cream depending on the market. The style of the Suhali range was designed to reflect Louis Vuitton's Traveller Trunk heritage, with hardware and S-locks reminiscent of tough trunks and suitcases from the maison's origins. What set this shoulder bag apart within the broader Suhali roster was its soft, almost poetic drape when worn; goatskin of this grade holds a natural sheen, takes dye beautifully, and remains notably lighter than cowhide leather.
